Gruppo Ghetonia

Having toured extensively throughout Europe, this is the first UK appearance of this Italian group from Salento, the closest region of Italy to Greece. Gruppo Ghetonia bring us a taste of olive groves, sea and Mediterranean sunshine, singing traditional folk songs of love, passion, joy and sorrow. Many of the songs are in the ancient Griko dialect, accompanied by the wild rhythms of the tarantella dance.

Also appearing Tuesday 20th July in the Purcell Room as part of Rhythm Sticks Festival.
